Are we really the ‘domain experts’ that we think we are? If a bunch of kids and outsiders, who don’t know our customers, markets, and histories at all, can make much better predictions that we can in critically important areas, what does this imply? Do we need to completely rethink how we make our predictions? Do we need to outsource or crowdsource the making of predictions, even if we currently think of it as a ‘core competence?’ In the world of big data, how much has relevant expertise shifted, and where has it shifted to?

Anonymous and the betrayal of Sabu Ex leader of Lulz Security, my take.

So how do you kill an idea?. NO. Pervert it, make a shame of it to the couch potato population that watches FOX news, it won´t kill it but it will buy time and time kills anything in a World of entertainment.

With Sabu, the biggest blow wasn´t to Anonymous as a series of cells or the brand existence, but to that 14 year old that wants to help and instead, the next time he will think twice before going to the Windows Start menu and launch Anonymous Low Orbit Ion Cannon to help crashing a site. He´ll think twice before entering the IRC channel and ask for training from some members.

He will think twice, that´s all they need. Now bombard the mind with repercussions and we´ve got a brand new couch potato head.

The news will be filled with Sabu´s decision to keep his kids and sell his guild, the mob will forgive him and the rebels will try to hunt him on the witness program, so then all Anons will be look down upon.

As a beta of future activism, Anonymous is doing their part brilliantly and that´s to light a spark, teaching us that the Internet is a territory that must be fought that´s worth something and if we don’t want our kids being brainwashed to a few options, to be republican or democrat, communist or capitalist we need to step forward, going beyond proxies and hacks. Mahatma Gandhi wasn´t wearing a mask, he stood there, he didnt asked for help from unsuspecting kids while he hid behind a proxy.

Resistance is needed to be a shadow so the population can be enlightened, but we also can demand in daylight, we must step on our actions with our names out loud. Names lack value as words, but as marks of our faces, they cement our society´s memory deeper than any avatar, there won´t ever be a mask as unique as face, as memorable as a gesture of pure pain or rage.
